Here’s a little background on Treasury Czar Hank Paulson.  I said on this website back in July that Mr. Paulson did not have the best interest of President Bush in mind when Paulson encouraged Bush to ignore his more conservative advisors.

Democrats today got something done on energy.

President George W. Bush presided over perhaps one of the largest surplus spending sprees in the history of the United States, and now he is threatening to veto certain carefully crafted bills which would reduce the price of gasoline and domestic food supplies.

Taxpayer groups, environmentalists and doctors have all pledged to try to change the legislation, for different reasons. Bush has threatened a veto.
