Last night the Metro Council voted 22-15 to table Eric "English Only" Crafton's bill to exact interpreters fees on people whose primary language is not English. The 15 who voted with Crafton against the tabling motion include two at-large members who are supposed to be representing all of us: Tim Garrett and Charlie Tygard.

Thank you to all of the volunteers from the Southeast Davidson community who came out to help Mayor Karl Dean, his Director of the Mayor's Office of Children and Youth Danielle Mezera and the outstanding leaders of the First Day Festival. We were responsible for crowd control, helping to fill the backpacks, distribute flyers and prepare for the event.
