What happens underneath an overpass is now tangled in bureaucracy.

Well, technically the camp isn't really located "underneath and overpass" but instead, parallel to it.  But tangled in bureaucracy it is, and it probably will continue to be until the camp actually closes, which ultimately was, I think, the only real decision the committee came to yesterd

The majority of them never go inside (a shelter), preferring instead to sleep together under the nearby 5th Avenue S.E. overpass

New Orleans decides to do something positive for their folks in Tent Cities....

Let's hope it doesn't take this level of chaos for our own city officials to "do something" to help put the most needy of our Homeless into housing, but seeing Homeless people walking with bandages, catheters and bags of prescription

I recently attended the harding place extension meetings held at Priest Lake Presbyterian Church and Una Elementary School. Given that I have only attended two meetings, the below are just a few questions I asked at this meeting.

A great many of my clients are "older" individuals who've spent some hard days and nights on the streets of this country. For all her prosperity and opportunity, America has a whole lotta folks living in abject poverty.

Now, I'm not making excuses for anyone here; a good portion of the poverty suffered by folks is self induced as a direct result of very bad choices and extremely bad behaviors, but it gets harder and harder to recover from one's ignorance and stupidity as one ages.
