I supported Jeanne Richardson for Tennessee House District 89; and I'm darned proud to post this video clip of her delivering the only remarks made on the floor in opposition to the "Let's teach the Christian Bible in public schools" bill that only three Representatives voted against. Larry Turner of Memphis is one of the three also, as is Mary Pruitt of Nashville.

Controversial provision stripped from open records bill

Thanks to your emails and phone calls, Representative Gary Moore’s HB 1256, the Voter Confidence Act, passed on the floor of the Tennessee State House today 88 to 6.

John Rodgers reports on the open records bill that passed this morning in the state senate:

Among other items, the bill gives governmental entities five days to respond to open records requests. There currently is no time limit.
