fresh air

The retrial for Paul House, which was scheduled to begin on October 14, has now been postponed until March 2009 at the request of attorneys on both sides. After 23 years of waiting, yet another delay is frustrating for many of us, but House's attorneys need more time to ensure that he gets the best defense possible and is ultimately exonerated.

I'm a bad boy. My urologist told me to stay on my couch for a few days and not lift anything heavy for seven. Within a day of last Friday's little surgery, I was on my feet picking up the kids' toys, vacuuming the floor, and pretty much breaking all rules pertaining to my recuperation.

So, I’ve been sick all weekend, and pretty much slept it all way, but by tonight I felt like I needed some fresh air, so I went out for a nightly constitutional. A cop stopped me on the way back. Actual exchange:

Don't you get tired of showering? I do. If I could be a guy, it would be an event rife with utter joy, followed by clean clothes and zipping out the door into the fresh air.

The other day I found myself engaged in that soccer practice chit chat that fills the sidelines. Quite often I feel like being somewhat antisocial, even though I am definitely a talker.
