I’m learning a lot, watching the world through the experience of my very old grandmother. It’s true that every day is a gift, and you can learn something every day. But sometimes it’s hard to be grateful for that gift when the day brings pain, or loneliness or isolation. And things you learn, you might just as soon not know.

Not really a whole lot going on this morning. We are doing some dog sitting this week for Izzy.  She’s a sweet girl, highly energetic but sweet.  Andi had an interview last night with a local church that went well.  We scored some patio furniture this weekend, and accomplished our other household chores.  Other than that, not much has been going on.

During the American Civil War the country was divided in two.  It’s an oversimplification I know but...In the North a general named John Tyler fought for the freedom of slaves (among other things).  In the South general Robert E. Lee waged war against the Union forces.  Between them - North and South - a line was drawn called the Mason-Dixon.
