Thought I would continue my review of 2008.

At the end of March, our numbers told us of a wild month with a high of 72° on the 19th and a low of 19° on the  9th.

April came in with a bang as we expected BIG rains!  Measured 2.86" in first 5 days.  Even with the heavy rains, we were still behind in precipitation for 2008.

There is so much to go over tonight..so let's get right to it.

We've had a foggy, drizzle-filled day to deal with here.  Temperatures have fallen this afternoon and we expect more rain to develop overnight and on in to Thursday.  Late Thursday afternoon and Thursday night could be interesting.  More on that in a bit.

Very nice evening across Tennessee tonight.  Look at temperatures across the Volunteer State at 9 pm, we see middle 70's near Nashville down to the upper 60's in the rural areas.  Here in Cookeville in the higher elevations, we should go down to the middle 50's by daybreak.

Gustav is barreling his way toward the Louisiana Gulf Coast.  Mandatory evacuations for the city of New Orleans started about 30 minutes ago.  Some good news is Gustav has weakened some.  Will he continue to weaken?  That is anyone's guess at this point.

I really hope you all like this weather!  The reason I say is it is going to continue over the next several days with highs in the lower 80's and lows around 60 under a mostly sunny sky.  Guess we can call this our September preview.  Don't forget to check the forecast below

I have always wondered why August is left out when it comes to traditional holidays. August is also when the Tennessee weather makes you long for cooler days with the heat index consistently pushing into the upper nineties and beyond. The occasional afternoon thunderstorm pops up out of nowhere, but few last longer than a [...]

After a bit of a break today, we're staring at highs in the lower and mid 90's for the next couple of days here on the Highland Rim in eastern Middle Tennessee. Of course, areas to our west will be even hotter. That being said, we do have a break in the heat coming!
