My bff Erin and I wanted to go to California. We started to plan a trip over Christmas and thought it might actually happen this year. We kind of have a history of this sort of thing--we've been planning a New Orleans trip since we were undergrads (she's been, I haven't), and we've also dreamed up (thus far) imaginary trips to Samoa, Ukraine, and Ireland. To our credit, we've made it several places together during the course of our decade

I generally don’t make New Year’s resolutions because I don’t like setting myself up for failure, but I thought maybe I’d try some this year that don’t involve losing 20 pounds or overhauling my personality, like most people aim to do. So, we’ll see how it goes. If I don’t keep them all, [bleep] it. I was pretty awesome in 2007 anyway.
