Living in Franklin, Tennessee, for over 25 years one does not easily
forget the Battle of Franklin on November 30, 1864. The Carnton house
which had 5 dead confederate generals dead on the front porch and the
Carter House now a museum with bullet holes easily seen in passing.
Recently they tore down the Pizza Hut and made it into a small park, a

I am from Franklin, Tennessee, a place known for it's role in the Civil War.
The Battle of Franklin was fought there.
The website for the Carter House says this: "Franklin is the blackest page in the history of the War. It was the bloodiest battle of modern times in any war. It was the finishing stroke to the Independence of the Southern Confederacy."
