It's time again for a little weekend reading over at my Parents.com blog. This week, I wrote about:

Independent truckers are continuing to voice concerns about high fuel prices and are planning new strategies to express them.

While supporters were hoping for a response in the tens of thousands, the numbers were more in the hundreds for independent truckers attempting a nationwide strike this week.

In a recent poll, a sobering 47% of Americans said that we should stay the course in Iraq, reasoning that now that our troops are there, we need to stay. Most responded by saying that if we pull out it will be a disaster for the Iraqi people. Americans feel this way in spite of the facts regarding the ongoing occupation of Iraq.

…but in a good way, like I can’t figure out whether I need to sneeze or tear up.

Get Real About Immigration

OK, first of all let me make the standard declaration: We need to control our borders and we need to know who is in our country.

I have a colleague who lives in Uganda and works for the Archbishop there. She just sent out this update about the situation in Kenya. For those of us who are missing this in the mass media, this is a good summary.
