I used to have a lot of respect for John McCain. He was the one republican I wouldn't talk ill of because of his five years in Vietnam being tortured.

Even though I am a liberal Democrat, I have always respected John McCain for his service and loyalty to his country. The man was tortured for five years when he was a prisoner in Vietnam. Five years. Then he came back to further serve his country by running for the U.S. Senate from Arizona. Pretty much for his entire adult life, he's been serving his country in one way or another.
