I was wandering the streets Thursday and Friday, and discovered something odd. In covering Wednesday's abandoned HUD house takeover by the Nashville Homeless Power Project, some individuals mistakenly believed that because I was writing the newspaper article for the Contributor, this effort somehow equated me with being a full-fledged supporter of the event.

I have been repeatedly asked by many about my feelings regarding Wednesday's abandoned HUD house takeover by the Nashville Homeless Power Project because some folks seem to mistakenly believe that simply because I am writing the newspaper article for the Contributor, that somehow equates me with being a full fledged supporter of the event. I want to set the record straight here.

Everything that needs to be done - everything I'm supposed to do, my case manager is supposed to do, everything HUD is supposed to do, everything that UHS.org is supposed to do - scratch that.

Everything is in order as far as I know. The very last thing to happen is that HUD is supposed to inspect the unit to make sure it's up to codes. Once the unit is given the OK, I am allowed to move in.

Ducks in a row. Last qualifying meeting, of many, was completed this morning. And at the meeting I was told that the unit I am to move into, was inspected by HUD this morning. A couple days ago I was told that I could move in once the place passed inspection. I was also earlier told that HUD would not be inspecting until Friday, or Monday.

Having spent about two years in a row house near lower Darby, I am no stranger to the city of brotherly love, although I'd rather I'd never moved there, since this was where I was first introduced to drugs, bought my first bag of weed, and began my journey into hell.

Who Will Edwards Endorse?
I think a strong case can be made that Edwards will endore Obama. Five basic reasons will motivate Edwards to endorse B-rock:

1) Both agree on changing power in Washington DC

2) Obama’s lack of polarization

3) Obama’s electability particularly with independents. Obama won’t galvanize the GOP base to vote not-democrat.

4) Obama’s desire to cross race and class lines.

In today's County Commission Agenda meeting, Community Services Director Cynthia Finch said "As far as I'm concerned, this does reek of having racial and sexual (overtones).", referring to the News-Sentinel coverage of her 'decision' to no longer oversee Knox County's community grants program after HUD ordered repayment of some grants and raised concerns over $840,000 other grants given out by the County.
