We’re trying to find a cribbage board, a deck of cards, a robe (in case they get Dad walking around and he doesn’t want to moon the nurses; he may want to moon the nurses*), and a pen for score keeping.  I’m bringing the start of the TCP afghan to work on while the Butcher and Dad play cribbage and I’ll join in on rummy when they get to that.  The Butcher wasn’t sure that Dad would be up for cards while he’s on the morphine, but Dad said that this

My dad is on his way to the hospital now to do all the preliminary stuff one has to do before they do heart surgery.  The Butcher is calling the Red-headed Kid to see if he can come over and check on the cats.  I talked to the recalcitrant brother and he’s not coming, though, he clearly feels [bleep]ed up about it.  What can you do, though?  I’ve got money to get me and the Butcher to Illinois.  I don’t have money to get him up there, too, and he doesn’t h

So, I'm turning 35. And while turning 30 was no big deal to me, somehow the thought of turning 5 just seems more monumental than just "another age on the exercise machines." As I've been thinking about turning 35, I've been reflecting on some of the stuff from my life. So, I decided to turn those memories into a post. Plus, you know, so I won't forget them all in my old age...

And since, I'm turning 35, I thought I'd throw out 35 memories...
