youth ministry marker : how we want to see youth

we are starting some new program stuff with our youth ministry at hfumc this week. with that we have a few markers of success. one of them is that our youth are self-feeders. for us that means that they know how to help themselves grow spiritually. this might be using a network of mentors, individual reading/devotion/journaling, or other spiritual practices.

Quantum physics, string theory, stuff like lasers and ball bearings–these are just a few things that I like to pretend I understand. Usually I just invoke the names of Stephen Hawking or Dr. Emmett Brown. If my audience is really smart I’ll make a reference to “e”, the loneliest of all the irrational numbers.
