The reaction of top Bush Administration officials to the ICRC report, from what I can gather, has been defensive and dismissive. They reject the ICRC’s legal analysis as incorrect.

Congressman Jim Cooper hollers at President Bush for calling in tonight’s State of Union for more fiscal responsibility on the part of Congress:

“Tonight, President Bush will challenge Congress to bring the nation’s long-term spending situation under control. I welcome his participation in this discussion, however belated.

The Moody Credit Rating company issued a warning this week that the U.S. is “at risk of losing its top-notch triple-A credit rating within a decade unless it takes radical action to curb soaring healthcare and social security spending.” U.S. Congressman Jim Cooper (D-TN, The Fightin’ 5th!) is all, “Tell me something I don’t know, sister.” *snap, snap, snap*
