1.  The Rotund makes this point about how people want to suck you in to their diet talk, in part, because dieting is all about performing “goodness.”  Brilliant.  I’m going to be mulling this over, especially in the context of women and our dieting.

Damnit. Somehow I let myself spend the morning watching Gravel clips on YouTube. Who was I kidding? I can’t resist the urge to stand up with a revolutionary underdog, it’s just in my nature.

Some of the unofficial grassroots clips are pretty good too. For example, here’s one that illustrates the media manipulation of the process. Seems a bit foil-hat,
