It has been a typical mid-July week here in Tennessee. Temperatures have been in the 90's for much of the state and conditions are very dry. The only good news is low temperatures at night have fallen into the 60's! Very comfy at night.

Temperatures will only be in the mid and upper 70's across the Highland Rim today as a cold front passed through on Sunday. Lows tonight could bottom out around 54° here in Cookeville and might be even cooler in the higher elevations up on the Cumberland Plateau!

We've had a warm Friday here in Cookeville, TN. The high, so far, has been 84.3°....some popup thundershower activity has been reported in higher elevations of the Cumberland Plateau to our east. It has been very spotty at best.

A freeze/frost is not that uncommon for middle Tennessee this time of year. In Nashville half of the time (over the last 34 years) the last frost of winter occured on April 8. Most other areas it’s around Tax Day.

According to the National Weather Service, overnight lows will drop mostly into the 30s, with mid to upper 20s in the higher elevations, where light snowfall is possible today and tonight.
