I hope, at this moment, that all your h'ors-d'ouevres are prepared and that you're kicking back and hanging out with everyone you love. Me, I'm getting ready to go party after church tonight and really just wanting to nap instead. I'm not much for football or sports in general, but a kind co-teacher friend invited me to her and her husband's for their party, so that's where I'll be this evening. As I write this, I'm sitting in the window of my favorite coffee place ever in my favorite town in Alabama. My blog has been very Nashville-centric and I don't often mention that I lived in Alabama for five pivotal and usually-happy years. We had our second snow day in a row, which was crazy awesome, and I drove down here to see my sister and her husband, who still live here.

My bff Erin and I wanted to go to California. We started to plan a trip over Christmas and thought it might actually happen this year. We kind of have a history of this sort of thing--we've been planning a New Orleans trip since we were undergrads (she's been, I haven't), and we've also dreamed up (thus far) imaginary trips to Samoa, Ukraine, and Ireland. To our credit, we've made it several places together during the course of our decade
