There was a cat that had died when I was around 10. I think it got nicked by a car and had some outrageous internal injuries that it didn’t survive. It was a regular gray cat. They are everywhere here. Not a lot changes. There are always cats around here. Cats apparently procreate. WHO STOLE THE AMERICAN SPIRIT?9

I was at a meeting attended by several local entrepreneurs the other morning. They all agreed that everyone is worried that the economy is in bad shape, but none of them were really feeling recessionary pressures in their businesses. The only thing that worried them directly was inflation. "We're not talking about bums on the street...We're talking about middle-class people who have fallen through the cracks."13

Let me tell you… I can’t even begin to describe how excited I am that March is here. It can only mean that the gray, freezing, gloomy days of winter are numbered! I drove past a cluster of blooming daffodils yesterday and felt my eyes actually tear up at the sight of them. The renewal is upon us! BREAKING CRIME ALERT: Shooting at 7th and Garfield Market5

He told me that victim was in bad shape. Initial reports indicate that it happened between 6:30 and 7:20. No word on whether a suspect is in custody. I'll post more details as they come in.
