An office where you had to dial “9″ for an outside line.

I haven’t worked there for three years now, but every time I dial those phone numbers I always put the “9″ first.

It’s interesting how we can get so used to things and take them for granted, especially technology. Last night I took the iBook in to the Apple Store for repairs. The screen had gone a little bonkers and it’s hardware-related, not software, so sending it off or buying a new one werethe options.

It's amazing and creepy the way Google's algorithms work. I'm a Google [bleep] - I use Blogger (tho I curse it regularly), gmail, Google docs, Picasa, and their spreadsheet thingy too.

The Tennessean reports that legislation to end public access to state and local employees' home addresses and phone numbers has passed the state House.

Ben Cunningham wants to know where government employees live and is upset at efforts to keep it secret:

I just signed up for the latest cool tech to come into an open "Beta" from Google: GrandCentral. Really cool concept, pretty solid execution. Can't wait to see what it turns into eventually (or how they monetize it in the future).

The basic concept is this: Signup. Get a new phone number. Setup all your real phone numbers to tie to your account. Now, when someone calls your GrandCentral number, it actually rings any of your numbers.

This is being posted again because many people I have talked to in the last few weeks had no idea these phone numbers even existed. Keep these phone numbers handy.
