In his oppositional comments against council member Jason Holleman's overlay request to protect a historic church building from being replaced with a Rite-Aid tonight, Jim Gotto said that an overlay would stop church members from selling to a big box, which would make them "hostages." Mike Jameson retorted that as a boy scout he was taught to always leave a campsite better than he found it; and he encouraged the exiting church

This is our first year to be in Shelbyville for the TWHNC. I can count the number of times I've been to the Celebration on the fingers of 1 hand - 3 times. That's it. When we first married, Jim didn't want to go because he had to work there as a Boy Scout. We did attend once about 1965. Then in the 80s I was fortunate enough to get tickets to box seats a couple of times and really enjoyed that -- except for having dirt thrown on me off the hoofs...
