Hey sports fans, we need to hear from you again. This football season, the Times-Gazette will once again be looking for Bedford County residents in the stands at some of the big-time football games. Last night there were no less than five football games on my cable package, including a multitude of college games that counted.

The gloriousness of having the greatest sport on the planet, back in its full glory....well, I have to admit I was a bit giddy.

I learned early this morning that an acquaintance of mine and the radio station died over the weekend. Dickie Householder sometimes did color analysis for Cougar football games for us and was always present when we had the Titans Caravan come to town. In fact, I have a picture of Dickie on my cell phone from last year’s Caravan stop in LaFollette.

TALLAHASSEE, Florida (Reuters) - Florida education officials voted on Tuesday to add evolution to required course work in public schools but only after a last-minute change depicting Charles Darwin's seminal work as merely a theory.

Yesterday's Super Bowl was one of the best pro football games I have ever seen.  Maybe the best.  That's rare air in Medlock land and especially for the Super Bowl which usually ends up being less interesting than the flood of new commercials that surround it.
