This is a sad day for me.  Jerry Reed was the first musician I really connected with as a kid.  I wore the Live From Exit-In album out.  I mean, son, I Wore. It. Out.

At midnight my husband asked, “Do you know what today is?”

“It’s 8-8-08″

“Yes,” he replied.  “080808.  It’s the mark of the snowman.”

I laughed.

When I jumped on the Tubes this morning, carefree and excited to see what was happening

Can I tell you a secret?

I don't like my dog.

And before you start sending me nasty e-mails, let me clarify that I don't dislike dogs in general. Just mine.

Friends and family north of us here in middle Tennessee may find it hard to believe, but we got more snow than we've had in 5 years Friday night.  And by Saturday night it was virtually gone.

In Nashville, every year we have a snow that almost completely takes everyone offguard.

Check.

We also have one that everyone expects, and it goes about how the weather-folks said it would.

Check.

We also invariably have one predicted, the Storm of the Century, batton down the hatches!, invade Kroger while you can!, they have to put Nancy Van Camp on her meds kind of snow.  And this one invariably turns out to be a dud.

It snowed four inches last night in Jerusalem:
