What to Look for in Social Media Consultant:

I recently ran across a pretty informative post by Michael Martine that I expanded upon here about the nature of what a blog consultant (also called a social media consultant) does exactly:

What do “Suck it, Frenchies!” “Stick that in your communist pipe and smoke it, Russia!” and “[bleep] off, China, we know your gymnasts are 12!” have in common?

Give up? They are all things I have uttered this week while watching the Olympics.

So I used to think Facebook and Myspace were just for kids and *ahem* men featured on 'to catch a predator.' The jury is still out about Myspace. But I did it, I drank the Kool-aid and bowed to peer pressure, I joined Facebook.

Oh, stop laughing at me, I can see you! I love it, OK, I admit it. So, come find me. I love getting to know you better.

eMusic has added some new features and I spent the morning browsing around and trying them out. In a nutshell, the new features both push and pull. They pull in content from around the web (YouTube, Flickr and Wikipedia). They push out links to eMusic using social networking, blogging and recommendation sites.

Technorati‘s “authority” measurement is at best unreliable and at worst completely nonsensical these days.  Technorati (supposedly) counts the number of unique blogs linking to your blog in the last six months and calls that number your “authority.” However, sometimes it misses one or fifty.  If you know of a link Technorati has forgotten to count you can go to Technorati.com/
