Gun Owners of America, the gun rights group that makes the NRA look like a bunch of nanny state gun grabbers, has endorsed a Republican insurgent against his incumbent opponent:

There is a bill in the US Senate right now that deserves our support. Senate Bill 594, the Cluster Munitions Civilian Protection Act, currently has twenty-one sponsors in the Senate. This bill would ban the use of cluster bombs, which injure thousands of innocent people each year. Unfortunately the Pentagon and Department of Defense officials have fought the effort to outlaw these weapons.

Rich Hailey pens an open letter to his representatives in Congress asking them to recognize that poker is not gambling:

New legislation introduced by U.S. Rep. Jeb Hensarling, R-Texas, would protect bloggers from Federal Election Commission restrictions. The "Blogger Protection Act of 2008," (H.R.5699) would give bloggers permanent protection from FEC campaign laws when linking to campaign Web sites or editorializing about candidates.
