One thing they don’t warn you about when you first become a parent: the most prevalent emotion you will feel from day one is self doubt, and it never goes away.

My sister emails me Saturday. Telling me her and her husband were discussing my parents 30th anniversary next year and they want to plan a family vacation. This is one of her worse ideas.

In theory, a family vacation might be a nice idea. Planning it with her, not so much.

I don’t get to see Brian and Amy much these days.  Brian works for Compassion and not me anymore.  The cold weather has forced the cult-de-sac inside, and our busy holiday travel schedules have taken us separate ways.  So Becky and I were looking forward to a family vacation to Ireland tomorrow - just Brian and Amy, Becky and me - friends and family kickin’ it in Northern Ireland for a few days.

Matt Pulle’s back in town and annoying the heck out of Janel Lacy. Pulle found it odd that the media is reporting on the Davidson County Election theft and the Mayor’s Office response as though Karl Dean was in town.

He isn’t and Matt had to Pulle some teeth to get that fact out of the Mayor’s spokeswoman:

I went a full year without a boyfriend and survived.

I had some of the weirdest, funniest, saddest, and funnest dates that I've ever had. The stories are endless.

I started wearing eyeliner. Top lid only. Bottom lid = you look older. Trust me.

I learned that I can go back to school and survive with social life the same.

Sorry for the absense last week, but it was family vacation time! I went to Panama City with my husband, my daughter, my husbands parents, and their big dog, Lucky. I was a little worried about going to Florida this year because we all rode together in our van...Yes, I was in the car for 7 hours with my in-laws, a 100 lb. dog and a 2 year old! But, you know what, it wasn't that bad...
