Former state senator Kathryn Bowers was sentenced to 16 months in prison and 2 years supervised release for accepting $11,500 in bribes for her legislative influence.

The 64-year-old Democrat was one of a dozen elected officials or aides convicted in the FBI’s Tennessee Waltz undercover investigation into public corruption.

Former state senator and Tennessee Waltz defendant Ward Crutchfield of Chattanooga was sentenced to probation today for his role in the Tennessee Waltz public corruption sting.
