top of the charts

Last week I started a weekly feature in which I will travel back in time back in time and bring you the songs that were top ten hits this week on the American Top 40 from whatever random year choose to travel. To check out last weeks post go here.

One of my favorite things to do on Sundays growing up was listening the the hits from coast to coast while Casey Kasem counted them down. That’s right. I’m talking about the AmericanTop 40. It was four hours of great music, long distance dedications, and Casey’s smooth voice counting them down.

I've heard some goofy campaign ideas - but for the John McCain presidential campaign to promote this idea that his opponent is the "biggest celebrity in the world" puts McCain is on the sidelines, watching his opponent carry the day.

I suppose I have many faults. Probably a few I can’t name, but ones my family could probably recite in their sleep. I’m often quick to anger, but in my heart of hearts, I’ve gotta believe that lack of patience is my top-of-the-charts, slow burning, double-grinding-stomach-churning crime of gnashin’.

Another weekend arrives and not a moment too soon. Lots to do and not enough time to do everything so pick your favs and go for it. Just a note Jamie put 90% of the list together and I added a few things. Enjoy the weekend and have some safe fun. - mDave
