Mother Nature was a bitch this weekend in Tennessee. 

I was terribly cruel and insensitive to the plight of what remains of the Burmese people earlier this week by intimating that Queen Laura should quit begging the Myanmar junta to steal our tax money intended for the poor and needy (as our voracious Imperialist Hegemonic Empire is wont to do).

There was a magnitude 5.2 earthquake up the road from us (near Evansville) at 4:36am (CST) this morning!

Cascade and Cornersville stretched the rules as far as they could for their annual Dirty Ball Classic, which was consolidated into one game this year thanks to Mother Nature postponing games from...

On the heels of the coldest winter in the country since 2001 (and one of the coldest since national record-keeping began in 1895), we are more than three weeks into a spring that is little warmer. Here in Clarksville, Tenn., temps dropped below freezing last night and in some counties south.

I was late in coming to the anti-global warming cause.

Getting ready for school this morning was a little bit rougher than usual because we’ve been on Spring Break Standard Time since last Monday and yesterday there was no school in our county for teacher inservice. I am still waiting for spring to show up at our doorstep with a pitcher of margaritas or fruit tea. Old Man Winter, slovenly and unshaven, torments me instead.
