My heart goes out to Rick Burgess (of Rick and Bubba) and his family. They just lost their youngest son and brother, Bronner, in a tragic drowning accident last weekend. Bronner was almost three years old, really, really close to the age of my daughter McKinley. I can’t even imagine. I don’t want to imagine.

Earlier this week, I posted my condolences to the family of Rick Burgess on the loss of their two-year-old son. For those of you who don't know Rick is one of the hosts of the syndicated radio show, the Rick and Bubba Show, which I listen to daily.

Yesterday I wrote this. Today I listened/watched this.

Rick Burgess spoke at his son’s memorial service yesterday.  I heard part of it this morning.  Powerful stuff. Preach on, Bro. Rick. Seriously, I would not be surprised if this tragedy propels Rick into a more full-time ministry.

Yesterday as I was reading through my feed reader I came across this post over at Big Orange Michael’s that caused me a bit of grief.

It's so easy to misuse words in life. The past couple of days, I've used the word tragedy to refer to a situation in my life that was, quite frankly, anything but...

Then, along comes news like this. The youngest son of radio host, Rick Burgess died yesterday. Rick is one half of the Rick and Bubba, who host their daily, syndicated radio show from Birmingham, Alabama.
