Unfortunately, it looks as if the pressure cooker that is Iraq is getting ready to explode again. All of this started with the Shiite minority getting tired of the lack of progress during their cease-fire called for by Shiite leader Muqtada al Sadr. Then, there was a triple car bombing that got them pissed.

Last year, when the US announced its "surge," the leader of the Shiite militias, Muqtada al-Sadr, announced a cease-fire and told his followers to lay down their arms. Most did, and as a result we saw a significant reduction in violence in the region.

Haaretz reports of former American UN Ambassador John Bolton's visit to Israel. Bolton essentially cuts Olmert's legs out from under him. The message is incredibly blunt:

John Bolton, who was U.S. ambassador to the United Nations during the Second Lebanon War, rejects Prime Minister Ehud Olmert's version of he launched [sic] a failed ground offensive during the war'
