A couple of weeks ago, I went out and saw Iron Man. I loved it. But it occurred to me that I don’t go to the movies, or even watch movies, anywhere near as often as I used to. As a teenager and into my early 20’s, I would see, on average, a movie a week.

Even though I actually saw all five nominated films for Best Picture for the first time that I can remember, I didn’t watch last night’s show in Hollywood. That’s one big thing that sucks about my job: no staying up on Sunday nights for late night awards shows.

I was pleasantly surprised by the Academy’s choices. No doubt No Country For Old Men should have won as well as Javier Bardem.

Jon Stewart did a good job as host of the 80th Academy Awards, and he kept a descent pace as well, yet the show still seemed long and boring.

There was only one surprise, and that was Michael Moore did NOT win best documentary for 'Sicko.' There were no wardrobe malfunctions, no political speeches, and not even one f***.

In other words, zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

Here's the winners:

Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role
Javier Bardem

I’d like to invite any interested party to participate in predicting the Oscars. This year, I’ve actually seen many of the nominated films and performances, and I’m willing to predict categories in which I’ve seen, as Bob Dylan once said, ‘less than zero’.

Supporting Actor: Easy..easy easy..Javier Bardem, ‘No Country for Old Men<
