...just a thought. Will anyone else not be amazed when Barack Obama returns from Iraq with a "new perspective" (i.e. more centrist) view on the war, with a "cautious analysis" (i.e. flip flop for moderate votes) of a longer withdrawal from Iraq?

Do you go through phases with magazines? I bet I’ve subscribed and unsubscribed to Outside, Esquire and Gourmet three times each. After a few years, the tone and approach seem homogenous and I look for a new perspective. There have been similar phases with Cook’s Illustrated, Food & Wine, and Cooking Light.

YouTube Thursday: NT Wright on the Colbert Report

So last week, I was all hyped up about my second favorite Anglican, Bishop NT Wright, being on my first favorite political pundit satire show, the Colbert Report.

Here's what happened.

I thought it was pretty good and funny, and it seemed that even Colbert knew some info about Wright's theology, although I'm glad they didn't get into the whole New Perspective stuff.

It's probably the most common, generic prayer we hear: "Lord, please bless so-and-so..." It can mean any number of things, usually a vague plea to keep that person safe, give them happiness and make all their dreams come true (or something like that). But this morning I was reading in Acts and got a whole new perspective on that little word "bless."
