There really isn’t anything I can say about George Carlin that hasn’t already been said who died yesterday of heart failure.

First, he was an elder statesman. Then he was an elder statesman who supports Democratic nominees. Now, he’s an elder statesman who endorses Democratic Congressmen against their primary opposition.

I thought that Al Gore was more or less out of the game these days. I thought he doesn’t want to get involved with petty politics.

Yesterday, the USS Kitty Hawk (CV-63) left Yokosuka Harbor in Japan for her final voyage in active service. Commissioned in 1961, the Kitty Hawk has been an elder statesman of the Navy for many years.
