Kudos to the Democrat-led Congress for passing the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (i.e., the wiretapping bill) that Democrats had opposed for so long. Actually, kudos go to President Bush for scoring another political victory over the Democrats. When the Democrats lose, it's typically a good thing for the American people.

The House Republican Conference released a statement detailing that on March 4th, the Attorneys General of 25 states issued a bi-partisan appeal to Nancy Pelosi and the House of Representatives to pass the FISA bill a bipartisan US Senate vote sent them over two weeks ago. The text of the letter, signed by 16 Republicans and 9 Democrats reads:

Yesterday we interviewed Congressman David Davis (R) as well as Congressman Marsha Blackburn (R) about the political stunts pulled by Democrats yesterday. You know, the Democrats who didn’t have time to debate FISA that is set to expire this weekend.

Both expressed their concern over the expiration and their displeasure with the political games being played by Speaker Pelosi.
