saying nothing

It’s been nearly a week since the Chamber of Commerce rolled back racial progress in the city by voting to resegregate schools. Oh wait, that was the school board that did that. I get the two confused. Anyway, there’s still been no word from any of the city’s white progressive leaders on this issue.

Seven weeks ago, I went with my son's fourth-grade class to the 4-H center in Columbia for an overnight stay. It was a good time there. I'd do it again. Several parents went along. That evening, four of us dads got up a basketball game. I was reluctant. I was just getting over an upper respiratory infection and didn't want to get hot and start coughing, but what the heck.

That seems to be the sentiment of the media powers-that-be. Silly, sure. However, it shows you just how sincere the liberal wing of the Democrat Party actually is. We want to help you, you poor, stupid, uneducated, and (gasp) white people. But really, stand aside - let us get to the business of helping you without your input.

I have watched enough C-Span to have the general Obama stump speech memorized. I would like to provide a paraphrased transcript for those who have not had the time to watch, or listen to , one of his speeches.

I am running for president because I believe in hope. And, I believe in you. Beyond that, I believe that you believe in hope. We have hope for every American. I know you do, so let me hear you! (crowd screams, someone faints)

I was supposed to be on a local radio station to play and talk a little around the lunch hour today.  Then I was planning on finishing up a couple new songs after that.  But I woke up late this morning with very little voice and an incredible irritating healing itch in my throat.  I sound a lot like Harvey Fierstein - without the lisp.

So I’m taking my own advise and saying nothing until show time tonight - staying off the radio and away from people and conversation.
