I was sitting in the backyard with Legba. It was late and we were enjoying what was probably one of the last remaining nights of the year when everything was still lush and yet the weather wasn't unbearably hot.

A small, squat woman leaned over my gate and waved.

"Yoohoo! Hellooo!"

Like a bruise changing color, this is transforming and getting uglier.

I think about when I started blogging and it was a blog about getting married, then trying to conceive. Then an infertility blog, then cancer, marital issues, moving, now what? Divorce? (Am I even ready to use that word?) Separation?

Dear Sir (or Ma’am, but I’m guessing ‘Sir’):

This is a Republic, for crying out loud, not a private birthday ice cream pool-party. If you want to build rubbish, go do it like the rest of the landed gentry: in the middle of a huge estate where nobody will have to deal with it.

So a couple of months back, I left the Evil Twin of cell phone companies and switched to AT&T in anticipation of the new iPhone 3G. And sweet glory hallelujah it was announced June 9 and will be available for me to purchase July 11.

Or so I hope.

A few of my friends have a long thread of emails going that was initiated by Clint Eastwood bitch slapping Spike Lee.  It has evolved into a discussion over the merits of each of their movies.  I’ve spent most of my time on the sidelines of this discussion; all I really needed to do was type in the word “Unforgiven” to get my point across.
