This morning Beautiful Alice came by and hung out for a bit. She made us both a cup of tea and scooched the dog over so she could sit on the sofa.

"I saw your blog. Nice work! It was funny and Aunt Sylvia was really tickled. The thing is..."

"Yeah?"

"Jas, did you notice anything unusual about the theater or the people there?"

Taylor Swift isn’t my cup of tea.  She’s fine as a performer, it’s just that I outgrew the subject matter of her songs years ago.

But this was awesome.

I don’t miss it one bit, and that surprises me

A few months ago, in the height of my stomach woes, I reduced my caffeine intake from six to eight cups of tea a day down to one or two. The weird thing is that I knew it would kill me to give up caffeine. It’s not just that I expected to have sleepiness issues, either. I just really enjoy a cup of tea.

But I love caffeine!

A few weeks ago, at the height of my recent tummy woes, I decided I needed to drastically reduce my caffeine intake. I’d been drinking probably eight cups of hot tea per day (black or green). I needed to know if the caffeine was causing my problems, definitely, but I also needed to make sure I wasn’t going to have caffeine withdrawal issues at the same time as stomach issues (because my stomach was hurting too much at times to drink tea).

I’m sitting at my office at the end of a long day doing the work that I’m supposed to be doing, as that’s what I’m paid to do, and I must tell you I had a smashing day considering my insides want to fall out and I’m running a fever.

With that said, I am somewhat upset that I’m not going to get to see the returns tonight as they come in from Iowa.
