COLUMBIA - In a rare hometown appearance, Scott Holt drew a capacity crowd to the Sports Page Friday.

COLUMBIA - Gates open at 6 p.m. Friday and Saturday for the 5th annual Sheriff’s Rodeo at Maury County Park.

The air-conditioning in my building isn’t working.  It is hot in here.  I can’t work under these sweltering conditions.  I think I will register a complaint. 

If my children grow up to be average Americans I’ll have failed them as a parent.

If they spend four hours a day watching other people live on a television screen.  If they’re bored.

If they go to school to get a job so their kids can go to school so they can get a job so their kids can go to school...If they’re without purpose.

Ho ho ho! It's Christmas...in July!

This week, we're trying out beers we've had in our cellar for about 7 months, since Christmas, and seeing how they held up. As an added bonus, all the beers sampled this week have Christmas-themed names, courtesy of the brewery, Ridgeway, out of England. Join us this week as we check out these festive beers in a combination Seasonal/Brewery spotlight.

I haven't brought a guy home to meet the family in seven years. I've let one guy meet my parents since the divorce, but he didn't meet my grandparents/cousins/aunts/uncles/siblings. His own fault: he was invited to Christmas, he had accepted, the family kindly bought presents for him, and he at the last minute decided not to go. "I don't want to be gone from home all day" was his excuse.

When you see someone from your past, what goes through your head?

This week, we're taking a look at one of the Midwest's great breweries - Three Floyds. Special thanks to Jeff for mailing us several bottles of Three Floyds' beer so we could do this show. We can't get their beer here in Nashville, and what a shame - this is some incredible stuff.
