With all the turmoil in our lives lately, my family has found joy in two diversions recently.  The Joe Cocker translation video, and ABC’s new hyper-silly reality show I Survived a Japanese Game Show.

This morning on the way out of my neighborhood I spotted a tiny box turtle in the road.  I stopped the car, got out, picked up the lil’ guy and put him safety on the other side of the road in the direction he was facing.  I wish someone would do that for me sometimes.

And these are the people who want to run our health care

Obama says he is going to declare victory on May 20:

It's a train wreck waiting to happen, with one candidate claiming to be the nominee while the other vigorously denies it, all predicated on an argument over what exactly constitutes the finish line of the primary race.

Why on earth would Memphis Mayor Willie Herenton resign just a few months after a hard fought race for Mayor?

Well, at least he didn't say he was doing it to spend more time with his family.

LeftWingCracker.blogspot.com broke the story, and he has a link to Herenton's interview with the Commercial Appeal.

I have no doubt Sarah Lacy (I’m seeing it spelled Lacey, but L-a-c-y is how she spells it, so I assume that’s correct) is a very talented reporter, but as an on-stage interviewer, today she set the benchmark for remarkable badness. And I say that as someone who has once or twice conducted a remarkably bad on-stage interview. I also say it as someone in the audience who was sitting in awe as it was taking place.
