In one of those Moments of Mommy Guilt That I Will Revisit in My Mind for Years to Come™, I inexplicably opted to watch an episode of Twin Peaks last night without bringing the baby monitor to the TV room. It was only 45 minutes long, I reasoned, the kids had just gone to bed, and they almost never woke that early in the night.

We're at our first stop on the trip. We made really good time. We pulled out around noon. We've stopped in Tifton, GA for the night. We rolled into town about 6:15 our time. We did make a couple stops on the way. It's nearly the half way point between home and Miami. We nearly didn't outrun the rain, when we left.

Is there a romantic male worth his salt who does not get all wistful when hearing the first verse of “Sweet Baby James”?

J.J. loves sleeping in his crib. He also loves playing in his crib as he's falling asleep and when he wakes up. He is (for the most part) the ideal crib sleeper. While he is without a doubt tall enough and strong enough and determined enough to climb over the rail and lower himself to the floor, he has never tried. Maybe he feels secure in there.
