Tuesday, I left for New York. Had packed some things and decided this was a needed trip. To investigate what's in Buffalo, if I head back there. To decide finally, what's ahead of me. Tuesday night I got in and after a short chat with the friends I was staying with, I headed to bed.

I am a caretaker. I make people soup and fetch people crackers when they're sick. When my grandmother lived with us, it didn't matter I was a teenager, I took care of her. Dad's heart problems, yep, helped nurse him back to health while Mom went to work. My brother had a terrible car accident, who waited by his bedside, me again. I need to be needed and to feel useful.

The worst part about most bad things, from death to taxes, is the dread. Sitting around worrying about something makes the bad event appear ten times worse.

I support the general concept of insurance--I get that there is a benefit to pooling resources and all--but when you add the profit motive in there, you end up on pretty shaky moral ground.
