When I'm on the street working with folks, it's rare that I have a large success, such as getting someone into housing. To me, that's a biggie.

To be sure, I've put a number of peeps into transitional and permanent housing, but most successes are small, barely worth mentioning here.

The idea to give homeless people homes has been gaining popularity nationwide, largely because it has been seen as a cost-effective way to get them off the street and into better lives.

Over the past 8 years, there seemed to be only one thing that motivated politicians more than voting themselves pay raises; cutting the costs of expenditures to assist the poor.
