Imagine there’s a man named Miguel.  Miguel was born in Haiti but works today on a sugar plantation in the Dominican Republic.  The plantation is owned by a U.S. corporation.

With our stomachs full of breakfast, we climbed aboard the bus and headed out for the sugar plantation.  Chris, our guide from Compassion‘s Dominican Republic office, prepared us for what we were about to see.

I am in the middle of writing a song for the soon-to-be-recorded X-Alt CD (tentatively titled “Funky Shui”).  I’m having a really hard time finishing it, because it’s so different from most Christian music, and it’s such a different perspective than the one I usually put forth.
