Terry Frank has a great post on the making it so kids under 18 must get parental consent to buy a squirt gun in Tennessee. The money quote from Terry on this has to be

I’m proposing my own form of cap and trade.  Cap the number of bills that can be sponsored in Nashville. Legislators can trade the allotted number of bills that they can sponsor if they like.

That would be one small step towards getting rid of legislation like this:

Since I posted about HB3019 last night I have received a bunch of E mails and calls from home school parents who love this bill and want to come up to support it. Many of the larger home school groups have also called in support. It was requested that I roll the bill so these groups can come up and watch the proceedings.

Bill Hobbs, in a press release, takes aim at the Tennessee Democratic Party and specifically Democratic Representative Nathan Vaughn for torpedoing a resolution to amend the constitution on abortion:

John DeBerry is the House sponsor of a bill that would, “[prohibit] any individual who is cohabitating in a sexual relationship outside of a marriage that is valid under the constitution and laws [...]

A bill has been filed in the Tennessee House of Representatives and the Tennessee Senate that would prevent anyone that isn’t legally married from adopting, making it impossible for gay couples or individuals to adopt children.

This is so stupid.
