By the time I got to RedState a bit ago, I was already neck deep in stories about government, at all levels, simply ignoring rules and laws they don’t like. It seems to be approaching epidemic proportions. It seems to be true regardless of whether or not the government in question is local, state or federal. It is true whether the officials involved are on the Left or on the Right.

Fred Barnes of the Weekly Standard reports that Senator Bob Corker has come a long way from the man who some believe won his Senate seat as a benefiary of unseemly racial politics:

First a history lesson: In the last 100 years, there was only one two-year period, from 1969-1971, when the Tennessee House had a Republican Speaker. It happened in 1969, following the mandated 1-man,1-vote redistricting of the Tennessee Legislature (which reduced the disproportionate strength of the rural counties).

Bill Hobbs, in a press release, takes aim at the Tennessee Democratic Party and specifically Democratic Representative Nathan Vaughn for torpedoing a resolution to amend the constitution on abortion:

The Donkey’s Mouth reports that Republicans wouldn’t let Democratic Representative Nathan Vaughn play in their pro-life games.

UPDATE: R. Neal tells us that the resolution has been voted down.

Glen over at Tennesseefree.com echoes an assertion by SouthernBeale (here) that not all Christians are Conservatives. Of course, that all depends on how you define “Conservative” and “Christian,” doesn’t it?
