I don’t think our method for electing Congress works. I really don't think our method for voting for Presidential candidates works.

I think the problem is that with districting being what it is, we get stuck in the two party rut. The problem with this rut is that, more often than not, we end up voting against someone rather than for someone and that is no way to elect leaders.

Metij is not at all excited by the prospect of an Obama/Biden ticket:

If Joe Biden is Obama's Veep pick, I am going to have a really hard time voting for Obama.* Biden is a special-interest laden millstone eaten up with huge dollops of corporate influence peddling topped with an unabashed love of consumer credit card lobbyist money.

The Commissioners have been stopping opponents of May Town Place from addressing that development in their comments in support of the Bells Bend Design Plan.  The first MTP proponent in a green "May Town Place" shirt just got up and spoke in favor of the development design and was allowed by the chair to complete her comments.
