The Butcher has a beautiful, if slightly crazy, friend who we all love.  Probably most of you are familiar with her grandmother, though that’s neither here nor there.

She’s talking about having a baby, just because her last name is so cool.  And I was all like “Shoot, you should have a baby with the Butcher!”

Tuesday Haiku - "Tween Trifecta"

Seems like it is all hitting at once....three of the "biggies" all this week. Not sure that I am ready for this.

Twelfth birthday party.

One of the interesting/frustrating things about politics, is you have pundits who obsessively try to compare the current political environment to one from their past...and when they do so, they often take a very skewed, inaccurate, and simplistic view of the past.

Here is the question of the day. As I was tucking Kenzo in she turns to me and says...

"Daddy, what is puberty?" she says.

"Uhm...gulp...it's well, when people start to get...uhm...why don't you talk to Mommy about that...uhm," I said.

It is the spring of 1980.  I am 15 years old.  It is a Friday night, but I am on no date.  I am working, performing my duties as dishwasher at The Barn Dinner Theater (now known as Chaffin’s Barn).  The small transistor radio is blasting the AOR station of the time (I think it was KDF).  The Pink Floyd song “Young Lust” is on.

When I was twelve, I had to change schools in the town I lived in.

Now out at polling places around the country, fly into the DANGER ZONE with the long awaited sequel to the 1986 movie hit Top Gun, Top Gun 2: the White House Mission.
