A local rally for the McCain/Palin ticket in Greeneville last week is getting attention due to comments from GOP State Senator Steve Southerland and his take on the economy.

The Greeneville Sun is reporting that several early voters in Greene County said Thursday that when they touched the on-screen button on a voting machine at the county Election Commission office to vote for Republican John McCain for president, the button for Democrat Barack Obama lit up instead.

Between Hurricane Gustave and the current storm, Hurricane Ike, gasoline prices are passing the $4 mark (again) and many outlets are running out of supplies, with the situation likely to get worse over the next few days.;
