I asked for a receipt Super Tuesday. I told the election worker that if I could get one from McDonalds, why couldn’t I have one for my vote?

I didn’t get one.

Well, today is the day to talk about this in Nashville.

Howdy.

We didn’t blow away. The people surrounding our fair village had a lot more damage than we did in Super Tsunami Tuesday but because there was a lot of ongoing storm waves coming in like it was the ocean, well, let’s just say your Gal Friday was busy last night.

It’s weird covering weather and even weirder when you are covering a primary and weather and a trial with a defendant with a less than stellar personality who was a bit growly.

I yelled up to the poll worker, “Excuse me … I do not believe that man should be on his phone.” She said, “Oh, you are so right” and then ran up to the dude and asked him to hang up.

Not only did our three-year-old go with us to vote this morning, and not only did the election worker allow him to put his mom's ballot into the scanner, but at lunchtime the boy joined us at a busy Chattanooga intersection (he stayed well removed from the curb, of course) as all of us wore our official campaign apparel and enthusiastically waved at passing motorists as we held up our signs.

It was one of the best family activities in which we've ever participated.
